STEM Bootcamp

STEM Bootcamp

Each year SWE hosts an all-day STEM Bootcamp at Bradley University for girls. It is a huge undertaking that is not remotely possible without the dedication, communication, and team work put forth by an orchestra of volunteers, speakers, and role models from University of Illinois Extension Office, Bradley University, and local professionals. In 2016, Sowmya Nagesh was the original innovator who came up with the plan to have intense all-day sessions focused on empowerment, student networking, and engineering projects to engage high school students who may be considering STEM careers.  The girls are exposed to a number of different types of engineering, including electrical engineering, computer engineering, and chemical engineering from speakers and experiments. The girls have a fun time with hands-on experiments that engage them throughout the entire day.  Thank you, everyone, for educating and inspiring our talented group of young women.
